Air fryer salmon teriyaki is one of the easiest and most delicious ways to cook salmon. Ready in less than 30 minutes, this salmon teriyaki is crispy on the outside, moist on the inside, and glazed with a simple and delicious homemade teriyaki sauce. The salmon is perfect with a simple salad for a lighter meal option. If you’re feeling a little fancy, add this salmon teriyaki on top of a hot bowl of white rice, slice some avocados, and add in a runny egg for a perfect salmon rice bowl! This air fryer recipe makes it so easy to make salmon teriyaki!
What you need to make this salmon teriyaki recipe
- 4 salmon fillets cut into individual servings (about 6-8 oz each fillet)
- sesame oil
- salt and pepper
- 1/2 cup mirin
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- optional: 1-2 eggs per person and an avocado
This air fryer salmon recipe works great with either fresh or previously frozen salmon. I love the convenience and affordability of frozen salmon fillets. I often keep Whole Foods frozen salmon fillets in the freezer for a quick midweek meal. These salmon fillets have a more milder taste and is perfect paired with my homemade teriyaki sauce. As for fresh salmon fillets, I often grab some whenever I make a trip to Costco. I love their prepackaged basil pesto salmon and will usually eat half of the prepared salmon with the pesto butter and prepare the other half with this salmon teriyaki recipe. It’s a great way to mix things up and not have to eat the same meal all week long.
How to make this easy air fryer salmon recipe
- If making a salmon rice bowl, prepare rice. Either use stovetop or rice cooker to start cooking rice. If making a salad, prepare all of the salad ingredients and set aside.
- In a small pot, bring water to a boil. Once water is boiling, add in eggs and set timer for 6 minutes to cook soft boiled eggs. Cook eggs for longer if you prefer a hard boiled egg. When timer goes off take eggs out and run under cold water. Set aside and peel egg once cooled.
- While egg is cooking, cut salmon into individual servings. Pat salmon dry with a paper towel. Lightly season one side with salt and black pepper. Drizzle some sesame oil on each fillet and spread evenly with a spoon.
- Place salmon fillets on air fryer rack. If you are using an air fryer/toaster oven/broiler combination appliance, place a baking sheet on the baking tray before placing fillets on top. Place fillets skin side down and air fry at 425ºF for 10-15 minutes depending on filet sizes. If you prefer your fish golden and crispy on the outside, turn up the heat to 450ºF for the last 1-2 minutes of cooking.
Prepare homemade teriyaki sauce
- While salmon is cooking in the air fryer, start on your teriyaki sauce. In a small sauce pan, combine equal parts brown sugar, mirin, and soy sauce. Optional: add in 1/2 tablespoon of sesame oil. Turn on the heat to low-medium and stir until sugar has melted. If you prefer a thicker sauce, in a small bowl combine 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 1/2 tablespoon water and mix. Add in cornstarch mixture into the teriyaki sauce and stir to combine. Turn off heat when everything is mixed together.
How to assemble salmon teriyaki rice bowl
- Peel and cut avocado into slices. Peel and cut eggs in half. Put hot rice into a large bowl or plate. Add salmon on top and drizzle with teriyaki sauce. Add in sliced avocados and eggs and top with extra teriyaki sauce, sesame seeds, and a side of sriracha hot sauce! Enjoy!

I do enjoy the manner in which you have framed this specific matter plus it really does give us some fodder for thought. However, because of just what I have personally seen, I simply just hope as the remarks stack on that people continue to be on issue and don’t embark upon a tirade involving the news of the day. Anyway, thank you for this superb piece and although I do not necessarily concur with it in totality, I regard the viewpoint.
