Ingredients

  • 3 cups Cubed firm or medium firm fried tofu
  • 5 Green onions cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 large Shallot
  • 4 Red jalapeños
  • 1 small slice of ginger
  • 1/4 cup Vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chicken bouillon
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kecap manis (sweet soy sauce)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • Dash of white pepper

Method

  1. Cut tofu into bite-sized cubes. If you aren't using store bought fried tofu, fry cubed tofu until golden brown on all sides. Set aside.
  2. Peel garlic, shallots, and ginger. Rough chop jalapeños into smaller pieces. Cut green onions into 1 inch pieces.
  3. In a food processor chop until smooth garlic, shallots, jalapeños, and a slice of ginger. Set aside.
  4. In a large frying pan, heat up 1/2 cup oil with medium heat. After oil is hot, add in garlic, shallot, and jalapeños mixture.
  5. Add in 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon chicken bouillon, 1/2 teaspoon sugar, 1/2 teaspoon kecap manis (sweet soy sauce). Add in fried tofu. Mix and stir fry for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Add in green onions and stir fry for about 5 minutes. Serve over a hot bowl of white rice to make a tofu rice bowl.
